Within the original walls of the National Trust classified York Mansions, built in 1840, are spacious self contained apartments. Each apartment has a distinctly individual character, furnished and decorated with an attention to detail. The apartments were restored using decorative painting techniques featuring trompe l'oeil, marbling and stencilling, and incorporate the original cedar mantlepieces and doors. Antique and reproduction furniture, a collection of old china, silverware and collectables, open fireplaces and French doors leading to iron lace balconies add to the charm of these Georgian apartments. Each apartment is fully self-contained.
