"The best located quality hotel for visitors to Sydney

"We stayed at this hotel 14 years ago and we wanted to stay there again
on our recent vist to Sydney because of its location on the Rocks. Not a
lot has changed at the hotel in the 14 years apart from redecoration and
upgrading the rooms. The rooms are of good size and well equipped and
are comfortable. We only took self service breakfast and the food was
good although the service - clearing tables cooking eggs etc was a
little slow due to understaffing. We had heard reports of surly
unhelpful staff and whilst we found them helpful we did feel that they
were less communicative and seemed less happy than other places we have
stayed. The lack of any waiting bell boys at the entrance is a bit
annoying - it means you have to drag your bags into the hotel - not the
only hotel to be deficient in this are we are finding. Overall we were
very happy with our stay. If wasn't for the location the price we paid
would seem to be a bit on the heavy side but we don't mind paying extra
for a good location

"Super hotel in a great location" |

"I really enjoyed staying at this hotel in Sydney. The rooms are very
comfortable, and a double is really a double. The location is fantastic:
not only the actual place, but by being close to Circular Quay (5 mins
walking) which is the centre point of all public transport. I had a
chance to try the food too, and it was also very good. "

The worst thing about Old Sydney Holiday Inn was: "Breakfast is a bit expensive, so I'd advise people to choose "room
only" and have breakfast in one of the many cafes around."
