"I booked this on the internet having previously lived in Vancouver I
had low expectations because of the area being a bit declined. You
genearally get what you pay for and I knew it wouldnt be 4 or 5 star. I
was delighted by the decor and the rooms. The beds were comfortable and
the television had lots of channels. The food (ate a couple of meals)
was fine, standard pub fare. The bartender was really funny and my
friends with me from the uk got to watch hockey on the sports screens.
Good atmosphere! I was staying with friends on Saltspring Island and
our party were invited to stay another day. I telephoned the hotel to
say we would be a day late and they kept our rooms no problem! I liked
the swipe cards to access the floors and didnt get that "you are being
watched and shouldnt be here feeling" you sometimes get in posh
hotels. All I got was friendly smiles of staff when I entered the lobby
(and not painted on smiles, genuinely freindly the kind you get from
people who enjoy their jobs) Great service all aound. Next time I visit
Vancouver I will use the Midas network and I would stay with the Howard
Johnson again!"
The best thing about Howard Johnson Vancouver was:"The staff were helpful and friendly"
The worst thing about Howard Johnson Vancouver was: "Nothing"
