Built in 1911 the Hotel Lapad is one of Dubrovnik's oldest hotels and has a charming period building which was renovated in the late 1980's. At this time a new wing was built which now holds 143 of the 193 hotel rooms. The hotel is open from April to November and is located on the Lapad peninsula of Dubrovnik, 3km from the old town and overlooking the marina. Hotel bedrooms can be small in size but are well maintained with a shower or bath. The hotel has a bar, a large restaurant, a garden restaurant, a tavern, TV-lounge and a swimming pool during the summer months. There is a large public beach just 600m from the hotel or for a small charge guests can use the hotel's excursion boat to be transported to a local nearby beach which is ideal for swimming.
