Located within the monastery of the same name, right in the centre of Granada and very close to the Conference Centre, the Maciá Monasterio de los Basilios was built over an old morabito ( a Muslim convent) by the Bohorquez family, Marqueses de los Trujillos, in the year 1616.

The monastery was abandoned by the Basilios monks in the year 1830 and 30 years later was converted into a college. Here you can almost smell the real student atmosphere of Granada.
It offers splendid cloisters which surround the garden and a well,designed by abad Josef de la Cerdá in 1681. The hotel is a new building constructed as an annex to the Monastery
