| The architecture and detail of the renovated hotel recreates the ambience of the ancient kingdom of Kandy. The hotel comprises a lobby, air conditioning, a 24-hour reception, a safe, a currency exchange facility, a cloakroom, a luggage room, an Internet connection as well as conference and banqueting facilities. The hotel also features a café, a bar, a nightclub and a restaurant. Dining may be enjoyed al fresco on the outdoor terrace or inside under the carved wooden ceiling panels with wall hangings of local spears and copper plates. The mahogany wooden chairs in the original rattan design are also unmistakable. The head chef of the hotel restaurants enjoys 30 years of professional experience and has been inspired in his cookery by his travels throughout Europe. The hotel is situated some 7 km from the heart of Kandy. From here guests are able to enjoy views of the forest-covered mountains of Heerassagala. It is quietly situated, overlooks the city and is among the most enchanting hotels in Sri Lanka.

The rooms afford a style of a temple and have retained the historical architecture of Kandy with sun and moon motifs in deep red and black and yellow tones. The tones evoke the murals of the kingdom's earlier centuries. The rooms include an en suite bathroom, centrally controlled air conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities, satellite/ cable TV, a minibar and a private balcony that offers views out over the valley or the mountains.
