| Description of the Du Theatre Hotel |
Originally designed in the early fifties as a hotel and theatre, its purpose was to create a synergy between both elements. For many years it remained one of the city's main theatres until closing its doors for the last time in the late sixties. Changing with the times it went on to become a small cinema specialising in art house films and in particular world cinema which even today is still considered to be one of the city's finest. In 2000 it underwent a complete design refurbishment by one of Switzerland's leading interior designers. The hotel's new contemporary feel compliments its rich history perfectly. On entering the small reception area you are greeted with a warm smile and good service. Whilst venturing up to the first floor by modern lift, it will bring you to a funky breakfast room split over two levels and affording views down to the busy street area courtesy of its floor to ceiling windows. A small veranda offset from this area is a great place to enjoy a morning coffee (spring to Autumn only). All fifty rooms vary in size and style offering a stylish modern theme mixed with a touch of the hotel's history. In addition, the Du Theatre's perfect location means that you have great access to see and do as much as possible to maximise your time during your Zurich experience whilst staying in a true boutique hotel.

| Room facilities:- | All fifty bedrooms offer a contemporary theme based on theatrical images. With striking coloured Perspex panels above the bed to the frosted wardrobes and attention to detail. The design was a concept created by a leading Swiss designer whose vision was to capture a synergy between theatre and hotel and between old and new. All rooms have, WC with bath and / or shower, direct dial telephone, satellite TV, hairdryer and safety deposit box. |
| Reception:- | The small reception area is manned 24hours and offers exchange facilities and has a small internet area with free quick and easy access. Also available at the reception desk are a number of spoken word CD's complete with CD player on which to enjoy them (subject to availability). The carpets are also quite distinctive, spanning from reception to top floor and show various quotes from famous persons over the years and adds yet another theatrical flavour to this popular 'true' boutique hotel. | Breakfast Room:- | A striking fusion of blues and red set the tone for your early morning breakfast amidst large windows with views out towards the hustle of the busy street below. Set on two levels with an adjoining veranda particularly nice and mostly used during the summer which gives a particularly good start to the day. |
