| Description of the Luxor Hotel And Casino |
Architecturally speaking, the Luxor, with its pyramid design and Egyptian theme, is the most unique resort in Las Vegas. Named after Egypt's most exotic tourist destination, Luxor Las Vegas stands 30 stories tall, topped by one of the world's brightest beams of light; has 120,000 square feet of casino space and 4,408 rooms making it the second largest hotel in the United States. This entertainment destination hosts a wide variety of first-rate entertainment, award-winning restaurants and state-of-the-art gaming features. Pharoah's Pavilion has a variety of attractions. King Tut's Tomb and Museum is an accurate reproduction of Howard Carter's 1922 find, often called the most significant archaeological discovery of modern history. The burial chamber and treasury room feature more than 500 replicas of mummies, Egyptian furniture, a chariot, pottery, baskets, jewelry, linens and other artifacts. Other Pavilion features include the IMAX Theatre; "In Search of the Obelisk" motion-simulator ride, and Games of the Gods Arcade. The gift shop sells Egyptian antiquities and keepsakes. The year-round pool complex has five pools and four spas. Guests can be pampered at the Oasis Spa, a world where healing hands, soothing waters and secret elixirs provide a rare haven of rest and rejuvenation. All rooms are spacious, with a combination of Ancient Egyptian decor and modern conveniences to ensure every guest has a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Customer reviews of the Luxor Hotel And Casino
|
"Good value in an ok location" |
|
"Arrived mid afternoon and check in was busy, but very efficient and
helpful in choosing what rooms were available (go for the pyramid,
what's the point in staying in the Luxor unless you have a pyramid
room).
Room was spacious and clean, with the standard 2 beds etc,
and an excellent view out of the slanted window.
Breakfast was
good, without any major queueing, and the service was what you'd expect
in such a big hotel.
Location was O.K. It's at the south end of
the strip, which can leave you walking a long way to cover the whole
strip, but gives the opportunity to go in all the various hotels. Going
in other hotels does show you that the Luxor is by no means a 5 star
hotel, but it is still a good option, and good value.
The pool
area is nice but it did get very busy and there was not large areas of
shade available as it can get very hot in Vegas.
