"Disappointing as photographs made hotel look fabulous

"We were not in the main hotel building, but in a separate annexe. Entry
was secure etc but felt bedrooms were small ie very narrow gap between
bed and wall to get to bathroom. Photographs of this hotel in general
were misleading.
We did not use any of the facilities in the hotel but chose to be independent travellers.
"
The worst thing about Beekman Tower Hotel was: "Small bedrooms

"Good value, character and very good service
" |

"Situated on the corner of 1st and 49th, by the un buildings, the hotel
is out of the main hustle and bustle, yet within easy walking of all
the key areas of tourist manhatten. Service from reception and
concierge were 'spot on' and when our bathroom door locked itself,
preventing entry, a call to reception brought someone to the room in
minutes. We had a junior suite which was spacious, clean and provided
everything we needed. The hotel is still kept in the original 'art
deco' style but perhaps some of the decor and furniture is just a
little tired in places. The only hotel bar is in the 26th floor
restaurant which has stunning views but was a little disappointing.
Overall, I would say the hotel was good value 3 star accommodation, in
a safe area with excellent service.

The best thing about Beekman Tower Hotel was:"Junior suite was very spacious

"Great location, friendly staff and great value
" |
|
"We had read many reviews before visiting and some people were not
satified but ....the rooms were large and really warm which is a must in
February when we visited it was -10 degrees and then some!
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the walk into the centre of Manhattan only takes 10 minutes.
The room was really clean and after a hard days sight seeing it was so nice to come home to a suite to eat in in the warm, watch tv with a bottle of wine and relax without the usual hustle and bustle of a busy hotel.
We certainly would like to return to this hotel when we next visit NYC

"My view of this hotel is somewhat coloured after being up graded form a
double room to a suite. However, the friendly staff and their
willingness to be as helpful as possible will influence our hotel
selection for our next visit to New York."
The best thing about Beekman Tower Hotel was:"Cocktail bar on the 26th floor"
The worst thing about Beekman Tower Hotel was: "Quite a long walk to the nearest subway station."
