Description of the Point Hotel

Formerly a department store the building has been renovated into a contemporary hotel. The Victorian exterior is complete contrast to the modern interior. Large, striking reception area with clever use of lighting. There is a popular restaurant and bar within the hotel. Bedrooms have modern style décor are quite simply furnished but nonetheless offer comfortable accommodation with some lovely touches such as Egyptian cotton bedding and Edinburgh tea and coffee. Great location to explore the fantastic city of Edinburgh.


Families:-	There are no family rooms and bedrooms are not suitable for 2 adults and 2 children; there are rooms for 2 adults and 1 child as well as some interconnecting bedrooms. Cots and highchairs are available.
Business facilities:-	There are meeting rooms available at the hotel. All bedrooms have internet access.
Disabled facilities:-	Public areas of the hotel are suitable for wheelchair access; there are also some especially adapted bedrooms for wheelchair users.
20 mins walk:-	City centre location so Princes Street, Castle, Museums, Gardens, Grassmarket, Royal Mile, New Town, shops, bars and restaurants.
Public transport:-	Bus stop 100m from the hotel; Haymarket train station is 0.6km from the hotel.
From the airport:-	Bus directly from the airport to the city centre which takes approx. 35mins. Taxi costs approx. £18 Contemporary style restaurant located on the ground floor; open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and serving traditional British and European food. The restaurant and its manager have won some local awards.
Parking:-	There is no car park at the hotel
Bar:-	Large, modern New York style bar open from 10.00 to 00.00
Room facilities:-	Smoking and non smoking bedrooms available. Triple bedrooms consist of either 3 separate beds or double bed plus single. Majority of bedrooms have bath and shower; there are some rooms with shower only. Modern in style and simply furnished. Standard rooms are located to the rear of the hotel so tend to be quieter. There is an on-going soft refurbishment of the bedrooms.
