"Very efficient check in service and a cosy room for our one night. We
were going to the Royal Opera House and were delighted as it was within
easy walking distance and we were able to lose the car without getting a
parking ticket. After the performance we walked a few yards to a very
nice bar for drinks and a snack and then off to the hotel in the snowy
weather. Good night's sleep and an excellent breakfast the next morning
with lots of choice to cater for all tastes and nationalities.
Decide what your priorities are and choose your hotel accordingly. If
you wish to visit the theatre and art galleries in Trafalgar Square then
this hotel is an ideal base. I also noticed that the concierge was
advising foreign visitors and helping them to book trips in a most
helpful manner.

"Enjoyed a 3 night stay. The room was comfortable, clean (clean towels

and very quiet, thought it would have been noisy for the middle of
London but pleasantly surprised. Breakfast was very good, plenty of
choice, dining staff were excellent at clearing tables etc quickly.
There was a bit of a wait on the Saturday morning for the dining room
but it moved along very quickly. Reception and concierge were very
friendly and helpful. Five minutes down the road and you were in
Trafalgar Square. Behind the hotel you were in Covent Garden. Across
the road to the right, there is a small pub on the corner, go down
the lane then walk through a small park and you arrive at the
Embankment near to Cleopatra's needle. Wonderful location. Would
definitely recommend the hotel.

"We have stayed at the Strand Palace Hotel on numerous occasions in the
last 12 months and we are never disappointed with the quality, service
and location of this superb establishment. We stayed this latest time
with other members of my family, my disabled parents, my brother and his
wife and our twelve year old son. We were treated to a club room -
excellect facilities and comfortable furnishings. We were even daring
enough to book dinner in the carvery for additional family and friends
(twelve in total) who were very impressed with this lovely hotel and
they regretted not booking at the Strand Palace. Incidentally the
carvery has to be one of the best value and best quality meals in London
(ÃÂã14.95 2 courses, ÃÂã17.95 3 courses) and the service was
excellent. I have already booked for a party of four and another party

was ideal because it was so close to the theatre. The staff were very
helpful and friendly. Our room was perfectly adequate for a short stay
although had we been staying for more than 2 or 3 nights I think it
would have been a little claustrophobic. The buffet breakfast was
excellent with plenty of choice and an ample supply of tea and coffee.
We would certainly recommend this hotel to other people and are keen to

need of overhauling here and there, it suits my purposes just fine.
It's on the Strand, near Whitehall, the Thames and the theatres and restaurants of Covent Garden.
My single room at the front, on the 5th floor overlooking Simpson's, was clean and everything worked. The orignal sash windows need replacing but the secondary glazing was fine and the room quiet. The bathrrom was as it should be.
The hotel was full and there were queues for breakfast at about 7:45 am. but only short delays. There was plenty to eat and a wide range. I would recommend the full breakfast.

"Great Location

"Me and my boyfriend decided to stay at the strand palace for Valentines
day as we were planning on spending the evening in the West End. When we
initially arrived at the Hotel it all seemed very nice, the location was
excellent (only a 5 min walk from Charing Cross/5 mins to Covent
Garden/Leceister Square) and we were checked in very promptly. We were
given a room on the 4th floor which was quite small but decent enough
for just the one night considering the deal I got (£44pp) and also the
fact we were planning on spending most of our time outside anyway. Upon
our return to the room after our meal out we realised that our room was
situated very closely opposite to other rooms on the other side of the
hotel and you could actually see directly into other people's windows
and vice versa. We had to close the curtains the entire time because of
this but despite not being able to see other guests anymore we could
still hear them. There was lots of banging around and talking and then
they got into the shower and it was all so loud we couldn't get to sleep
so we decided to watch the tv. We were told there were 'in-room movies'
but whenever we pressed the 'pay-tv' button on the remote it said 'not
available'. Also every single one of the coca-cola vending machines (one
on every floor) was sold out or out of order so we couldnt even get a
drink for our room. The next morning we unfortunately overslept later
than planned and by the time we got downstairs the queue for breakfast
was massive and as it finished in 20mins (10.30) we didnt see how we
would make it so we decided to skip breakfast and go somewhere else.
Checking out was quick and easy.

"As two 'fifty plus' females away for a theatre break in the West End we
wanted a hotel which was central and a reasonable standard. The Strand
Palace filled both these criteria. Location is excellent, standard of
room is good, fairly large, clean and comfortable, breakfast was
excellent, people were having to queue on the Sunday morning at 10:00am
for a table, so tip: get there early!
We rang to complain about a noisy door after mid-night, problem was quickly resolved by Maintenance and a good night's sleep followed.
We will stay here again.
"
The best thing about Strand Palace was:"Location
"
The worst thing about Strand Palace was: "Nothing
