The hotel, in a charming plantation-style house, is set in 4 and a half acres of well kept tropical gardens, right by the sandy St James Beach on the fashionable west coast. It is about a 45-minute drive from Grantley Adams international airport.

The garden rooms come with a direct dial telephone and a balcony/ terrace in main building with garden view. An en suite bathroom with bathtub, shower and hairdryer is provided, as well as a satellite/ cable TV, a radio, individually adjustable air conditioning and a safe. The Beachfront Club rooms contain the same, but additionally include tea/ coffee-making facilities and feature a sea view. The Junior Club Suites also feature an extra seating area and a large covered balcony/ terrace on the beachfront with a sea view.

There is an outdoor swimming pool with sun loungers and parasols on the hotel grounds, as well as table tennis, shuffleboard, a hotel raft and a tennis court (charges apply when floodlit). Sailing, water-skiing, parasailing and deep-sea fishing are available in the immediate vicinity (a charge is payable locally for all water sports tuition). An 18-hole golf course at Sandy Lane is only 2km from the hotel (fees apply). There is also a varied selection of local entertainment provided on a regular basis, featuring live bands and a steel pianist.
