Cheap and discount hotels and accommodation in Amsterdam, Holland

Get on your bike and explore Amsterdam!

The city is a traveller's mecca, it's little surprise that visitors to the city come back time and time again.

Amsterdam is well known for its canals, which you can explore by boat or bike. Take in the elegant canal houses and opulent homes that have stood along the banks for centuries.
Amsterdam has its Red Light District and hash-selling coffee shops, but they are just a small part of this world-class city.

Visit the Anne Frank House, view masterpieces at the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, shop the Waterlloplein flea market and let your nose lead you to the floating flower market.

Alternatively, visit the windmills of Amsterdam, the cheese market held just outside the city every wednesday or the Koninklijk Theater Carré.

More customer tips and city guides for Amsterdam:

"Driving in the centre of Amsterdam is tricky as the streets are very small. Locals all know where two lane roads are about to become one lane and you can find yourself stranded and having to push in. "
Mr M Didcott of Guernsey (Solo business) stayed: Nh Schipol Airport Hotel, May 2007

"Visit vondelpark if the weather is nice and make sure you take a canal cruise! Also the anne frank house is excellent. "
Miss G Avery of Leeds (Young couple) stayed: Amstel Botel Hotel, Apr 2007

"We bought a 3 day tram ticket from reception that covers any tram/night bus route whenever you want to use it, all for just 13 euros. Too many sights to mention but we visited the Artis zoo, Anne Frank's house and the Rijkmuseum - fabulous. The locals are freindly and polite and the city seems a safer place than when we last visited many years ago. We will definitely return to the same hotel in future. "
Mrs N Renshall of Liverpool (Mature couple) stayed: Hem Hotel Amsterdam, Feb 2007
