| Description of the Leifur Eriksson Hotel |
Just a few minutes from the centre and situated in the older more quiet part of the city, this hotel has a number of benefits. It sits directly opposite the famous church "Hallgrimskirkja" and is overlooked by the statue of Leifur Eriksson. Established in 1993, this small and friendly find offers a friendly service complimented by value for money. Situated in two buildings directly across the road from each other, the main building houses the reception and breakfast room where you will be able to enjoy complimentary all day tea and coffee. Rooms are simple, clean and pleasant.

| Disabled facilities:- | Neither building offers access to the floors by lifts. |
| 20 mins walk:- | Hallgrimskirkja Church, public swimming pool, museums, restaurants, galleries and shopping centre. |
| Public transport:- | A taxi pick up point is situated opposite the hotel for the short ride to the centre of the town. The closest bus stop is 200m away. |
| From the airport:- | The airport transfer bus "Fly bus" operates a direct service from the airport and stops off at hotels in Reykjavik. Journey time 45mins c. 1,150 ISK. A direct taxi transfer is around 30mins c. 10,000 ISK. |
| Parking:- | Road side parking only. |
| Bar:- | The breakfast room also serves as the bar (which extends out to the garden / patio area during the summer time). This can sometimes become busy, particularly when locals pop over for a drink at weekends. |
| Room facilities:- | All bedrooms offer clean, simple sleeping quarters offering twin or double beds, colour TV, direct dial telephone, alarm clock radio and small WC with shower. Some of the rooms in the adjacent annexe building are sloping attic roofs although these benefit from wonderful city centre roof top views stretching out to the sea and mountains beyond. |
| Pool:- | The hotel offers complimentary pass access to several different public pools around the city. The closest is just 300m from the hotel complete with hot tubs and saunas. |
| Reception:- | The reception is manned 24hours a day. A high speed internet access cable is provided free of charge for people with laptops. Complimentary tea and coffee is provided in the reception / breakfast area and excursions may also be booked here. |
| Breakfast Room:- | The breakfast room is situated around the corner from the reception area and offers a small, cosy area where the continental style breakfast is served. Early morning departures can arrange with the reception to have their breakfast early. |

"Excellent location, small but comfortable rooms, breakfast is good
although can get a little hectic when everyone arrives at once! Staff
helpful and friendly, especially Shaun who will book all your trips
and give useful advice. If I return to Iceland will definately stay
here again.
