Renovated in 2003, this hotel comprises 9 medieval building and affords an atmosphere of the 14th to 16th centuries as well as modern comforts. The hotel features 140 rooms and a restaurant.
Location:
This hotel is a historic complex situated at the heart of old Riga. This area is the oldest quarter of Riga and lies at the heart of this 800-year old Hanseatic city. Apparently, the convent dates back to the 13th century, when it was erected by an order of monks. After their old building was torn down in 1297, the brothers constructed a shelter on this spot. Souvenir shops, art galleries, bars, museums and open-air cafés (open daily in the summer) are to be found in the surrounding area of the hotel. Holidaymakers will have to search hard to find superior accommodation.
