"I was completely unsure about what to expect from the riad as it hadn't
been recommended to me, I just chose it from your website as it seemed
to have what we needed and to be honest I was a bit panicky about not
finding anywhere as I had already booked the flights!
It was completely beyond my expectations; spotlessly clean with excellent bathroom facilities and heating ( Marrakech can get very cold in December!). My friend whom I travelled with particularly enjoyed the free wine, and my favourite part of the holiday was when men came from the lovely local restaurants to lead us through the medina with lanterns dressed in full traditional outfits - all arranged by Jamal and Majiit at the riad. Majiit and I had fun teaching each other Arabic and English, and they made sure we had plenty of English tea for breakfast. It was too cold to use the pools, but we would go back in the Spring or Autumn to make full use of the beautiful terrace. I cannot recommend this riad highly enough.

"Oasis in the madness!

"Overall we were there for 4 nights and it was really good mainly because
it was completely different to Europe. You need to be prepared to barter
with the Souk (Market) traders, you also need to be very wary about who
is talking to you and where they are taking you. Number of times we got
lost in the Medina and got accosted by the locals trying to extort money
out of us. Its all born out of the poverty but we came back feeling a
bit broke because we got lost so much ... great for an experience but
next time I'll be wiser. Even the kids of about 2 are trying to extort
money from you ... its intelligent psychological begging and they seem
to be very good at it. I think they see any white european looking
person as super rich so they try to milk you.
Some tips to help out that worked were to where sunglasses so the locals can't see the fear in your eyes.
Keep the map hidden as much as you can as they see that and think you're lost straight away.
Don't give up with the bartering. If he says 20 Dinahs you say 2 and work it out from there. You'll see the prices come flying down esspecially if you start walking away. Whatever it is from a leather bag to a taxi start off with the attitude that you don't need it and you'll be alright ... even if you do need it.
Last tip is that it should cost no more than 50 Dinahs to get to and from the airport.
Best of Luck ..

The best thing about Riad Moucharabieh was:"Very quiet considering the Madness of Marrakech. Feels nice and safe,
easy, welcoming ...
"
The worst thing about Riad Moucharabieh was: "Got a bit bored of the pancakes for breakfast everyday ... although they
were quite nice the first time.
