| Description of the Heritage Christchurch Hotel |
Opened in 1995, the Heritage Christchurch is situated on two adjacent sites and has taken over two heritage buildings - one a former government building. The main lobby and standard guests rooms are in one building with the suites, restaurant, bar and leisure facilities located in the OGB (Old Government Building) which is an Italian Renaissance style building with high ornate ceilings and tiles floors. The hotel is situated in an excellent inner city spot, with most sights and attractions close by.

The Heritage Christchurch is situated in the centre of Christchurch City in Cathedral Square. The Cathedral itself is directly in front of the hotel, and nothing is very far at all in Christchurch. In under 10 minutes guests can walk to the Avon River for walks and punting, Hagley Park, Arts Centre, Christchurch Art Gallery, Canterbury Museum, Convention Centre, Oxford Terrace bars and restaurants, Cashel Mall for shopping, casino, cinemas and bus stations. Several golf courses, the railway station, sports stadiums and Addington Raceway (horses) are between 5 and 15 minutes drive of the centre.
The Christchurch Airport (domestic and international) is about 12 kilometres from the central city, and the drive takes between 15 and 20 minutes.

Located in the OGB building, the restaurant is open from 6am for breakfast (buffet and a la carte), and again for lunch and dinner. The restaurant offers a wide menu of local contemporary cuisine with local poultry, venison, beef, lamb and wines. Font Bar has high ceilings and views over the Cathedral Square and is open during the day until late serving teas and coffee together with cocktails, beer, wines and spirits later in the day.

There are a range of guest leisure facilities at the Heritage Christchurch. There is a fully equipped gymnasium together with sauna, spa pool and 25 metre heated indoor lap pool which is open from 6am until 9:30pm. The Champs Elysees Beauty and Day Spa is situated in the OGB wing and is an award winning spa facility offering almost every type of treatment you could want including facials, nail treatments, massages and other beauty treatments.
The Heritage has a fully self contained business centre with computer, internet access, scanner, copy, printing and fax facilities. This is open during business hours for guest use. Guests with a laptop can also access the internet from their rooms via dialup.
There are four conference rooms offering a range of options from boardroom style facilities through to the Maddison Room which can seat up to 120 theatre style. Full catering and audio-visual support is available.
