Customer reviews of the Ambassador Playa Hotel

"Best thing was the location" |
|
"It was my first stay at this hotel although some people in our party
had been before. This hotel is in a great location, next to the bars,
restaurants and shops and only 2 mins walk to the beach. R
The rooms
were cleaned on a daily basis, with clean towels and made up beds each
day. The maid was really nice.
The other staff were not as friendly.
We were told in the restaurant that we had booked half board and would
have to pay for our lunch when we knew we had booked full board. We had
to go to our room for the booking confirmation to prove it. The staff
embarrassed us in front of other people in the restaurant which was
awful. R
Food was ok but nothing special. It was always very busy in
the restaurant and getting a table was sometimes difficult. We ate out
most of the time because its was cheap anyway. I wouldn't booked full
board or even half baord again. R
The entertainment was for older
people - all line dancing and ballroom! The bar next door was great
though for live music until the early hours.
The pool was great.
R
We enjoyed our stay but certain bits could have been better I.E.
friendly staff. "

"Excellent and Value for Money" |
|
"We came to Benidorm a group of us 9 in total to celebrate my son's
18th Birthday. Another 5 people from Liverpool came on the saturday but
stayed in the Le Calaste apartments and when they saw our hotel they
said that if we were coming again in March - April time then they would
come with us in the Ambassador. I have now been twice and that is why I
brought my family and friends here as I know they would have nothing to
complain about.
The staff are very friendly especiall paco behind
the bar he earns every penny. My kids loved the lagoon and the swimming
pools I shall always come here as long as the prices are
reasonable.
The only 2 drawbacks we had is when we first arrived
My mum and sister paid extra for a pool view and they did not get one
until the following day and they had to keep pestering the receptionist.
This put a little damper to the holiday as they wanted to unpack and
could not.
The other drawback is when I went to order packed
lunches for 9 of us they kept on saying that 3 people were only half
board but in the end they gave them to us. Four days into the holiday I
was not feeling too good and did not eat very much from the restaurant
and the 3 teenage lads hardly ever went down they paid to eat out most
of the time but that is what teeenage lads are like.
The one time
I did go down with one of the lads as he fancied something on the menu
we got pulled up by the head chef asking us our hotel numbers he kept on
saying that room 202 was only half board I kept on telling him that we
all was full board as I had booked the holiday. He did keep going on
about who was paying the 7 euros. I got a little upset and was very
embaressed as all the people in the dining hall was looking and I felt
humiliated as they thought I tried to get down for a free dinner. My son
then got a little angry and assured him that we were all full board and
he would go up to the room and bring the papers to proof it. The chef
who ever he was kept on saying that on his papers it said half board, by
this time I walked off as I was about to cry with humiliation and my son
and his girlfirend followed me and demanded that I get my papers to
proof it from the room. We then took these back to the person who was in
charge to proof it and he just apologised not very enthusiastic about
it. I did not go down very much after that as I thought I was been
watched all the time and it put me off.
I do like the hotel and
this experience as not put me off but maybe in the future if I am ever
treat like that again I would book else where and I recommened your
hotel to a lot of my family and friends.
Thankyou"
