Tenerife - 300km of Shoreline
Varying from the plunging cliffs of Los Gigantes on the west coast to the sandy crescent of Las Teresitas in the northeast. The most popular beaches are in the south around Playa de las Américas and Los Cristianos. Playa del Duque is one of the newest beaches and the breakwaters provide for reasonably safe swimming. The best beach for children is Playa de las Vistas in Los Cristianos. Further north, El Medano provides one of the world's finest windsurfing locations. The long sandy stretches to the south of the town are rarely busy except for kite flyers and strollers keen on blowing the cobwebs away.

Mount Teide
Emblem of the Canary Islands and without a doubt Tenerife's most spectacular natural feature, Mount Teide dominates practically the whole of Tenerife's center and can be seen from virtually anywhere; its often snow-capped peak and even be seen from the beach. The volcanic nature of the Mount Teide National Park makes for a geological playground full of fascinating hiking trails and routes. Along with Mount Teide and the giant crater, other features of the park include peculiar rock formations left behind by lava flows, a second volcano - Pico Viejo - and its stunning 800 meter crater, the collapsed craters that form Las Cañadas, and Guajara- a site created by the internal crater walls that are practically sheer cliffs shooting up hundreds of metres.

"Tenerife is a place you either love or hate, we love it and I have been
coming to Puerto de la Cruz for 29 years.there is a lot to see and do
.Every one should go to the Loro Park, and when we were there in June
there was talk of the new Siam Park opening in the south of the Island
in Adeje. If you havent been to Tenerife before try and get hold of a
brochure called Millers trips, thease are fantastic value the only
drawback is you have to sit through a talk on blankets but they do lots
of trips around the island including lunch and free gifts. My 20 year son
did the one to Tacaronte and we have done the one to Gomera,Masca and
boat trip. It is also a wonderful experience to go to the volcano
Teide. The market in Santa Cruz on a Sunday morning is also not to be
missed. So much to see so much to do still not seen it all after all
these years. If you want to Scuba dive El Cardumen in Puerto is the
place we recommend Rafa is the man to see(gorgeous). One of the best
restaurants in Puerto is Regulo which is just off the main
square.Excellent service and excellent food, recommend the platter to
share for a starter and the duck or shoulder of lamb for main.it is our
last night restaurant and we have never been dissapointed. We also
recommend the cafe Track in the square to sit and have a beer and
sometimes a snack and watch the world go by.I Hope this review is of use
to anyone thinking of visiting Tenerife.
