Built in the 1970s as an apartment house, Eastgate Tower Hotel remains a quiet retreat amid the gracious 19th century brownstones in the Murray Hill residential area, just blocks from the United Nations building. The beautifully spacious guest suites feature modern décor with light woods and fabrics. The fully equipped kitchen includes ranges, microwave oven and refrigerators. The lobby is a bit small but well appointed with plasma television and cozy sitting area. High-speed Internet access (surcharge). Wireless Internet access (surcharge) is available throughout the hotel. An independent, fine-dining, lunch and dinner restaurant/bar serves Italian cuisine and features patio seating in warm weather. Just 3 blocks west of the Eastgate Tower along the Park Avenue boulevard are gardens with tulips in spring, begonias in summer, and cherry, magnolia, cedar, fir, spruce, hawthorn, and other trees-all maintained by private donations
