Originally built in 1928 this building was purchased in 1997 and 3 years were spent renovating it, at a cost of 125 million USD, into a 1000 room high-end boutique porperty. This elegent but not pretenious hotel is a true one of a kind, even for New York. From the stunning private park within the walls of the hotel to the uique restaurant and bar all of the public areas of the hotel create a stunning yet serene atmosphere. The rooms are a one off as well with dark wood walls and floors, white linen curtains and furniture designed specifically for the hotel.
