This historical hotel comprises a total of 36 rooms including 2 suites and 1 disability-friendly room. Guests are welcomed in the lobby area which offers a 24-hour check-out service as well as a hotel safe, a currency exchange facility and a cloakroom. The hotel also offers a café, a hairdresser, a bar, conference facilities and a restaurant. Room service is available and, for an additional fee, guests are also able to take advantage of the laundry and bicycle hire services. Parking is on hand for those arriving by car.

This hotel is located on the B704, some 6.8 miles south of Edinburgh city centre and only around 14 miles from Edinburgh international airport, while Glasgow international airport is about 45 miles away. The area is full of interest for visitors; Rosslyn Chapel is nearby (around a 10-minute drive) and the Royal Yacht Britannia as well as Edinburgh Castle may be reached in around 30 minutes by car and Edinburgh Zoo is around a 50-minute drive away.
Room description:
All rooms, including the standard rooms, have every comfort the modern guest could wish for. The majority of the standard castle rooms have delightful parkland views and are decorated in traditional-style fabrics. The lodge rooms are decorated in a relaxed country house style. Whether guests are recovering after a hard day of outdoor pursuits, or just want a little time to unwind in their own company, they are sure to feel very much at home. Each room comes with an en suite bathroom with a hairdryer as well as a direct dial telephone, a satellite/ cable TV, a radio and Internet access. Furthermore, tea and coffee making facilities, an ironing set, a king-size or double bed and a safe are provided in all accommodation as standard. There is a seating area and the rooms are centrally heated.
Guests may select their breakfast from a continental buffet and the midday and evening meals are available à la carte or from a set menu. The barrel-vaulted Dungeon is a unique setting in which to enjoy fine Scottish dining, whilst The Orangery Restaurant provides a relaxed and more contemporary alternative with a view over the South Esk River. Special dietary requirements can be catered for.
The hotel's Aqueous Spa offers relaxing and therapeutic spa treatments and rejuvenating hydro facilities. Guests may relax on the sun terrace or with a massage (charges apply). For an additional fee guests may also enjoy archery, horse riding and golf. How to get there:
From Edinburgh international airport: follow signs for Edinburgh/ City Bypass South (A720). Take the A720 to Sheriffhall Roundabout, follow the A7 south to Gorebridge and then take the B704 to Dalhousie Castle, Bonnyrigg. From Edinburgh city centre follow signs for Jedburgh (A68) to the Sheriffhall Roundabout, from there follow signs for the A7 to Gorebridge and take the B704 to Dalhousie Castle & Bonnyrigg.
